Genmu
Genmu is a term that originates from Japanese folklore and mythology, generally translating to "illusion" or "phantasm." It often refers to a supernatural or deceptive phenomenon that appears real but is not. These illusions can be created by supernatural beings, such as spirits or demons, to trick or mislead mortals. The concept of genmu plays a significant role in various Japanese stories, tales, and theatrical forms, including Noh and Kabuki theater, where elaborate stagecraft and symbolism are used to depict such uncanny visions.
In some contexts, genmu can also describe a state of delusion or hallucination experienced by individuals,
