GeHCl
GeHCl, also known as Germanium tetrachloride, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula GeCl4. It is a colorless, fuming liquid at room temperature and pressure. Germanium tetrachloride is highly reactive and readily hydrolyzes in the presence of moisture to form germanium dioxide (GeO2) and hydrochloric acid (HCl). This reaction is often vigorous.
GeHCl can be synthesized through various methods, including the direct reaction of germanium with chlorine gas
The compound is also used as a precursor in the deposition of germanium-containing thin films via chemical
