GazaEgypt

GazaEgypt refers to the geographic and political relationship between the Gaza Strip and Egypt. Gaza is a Palestinian territory bordered by Israel and Egypt. Egypt's southern border directly abuts the Gaza Strip.

Historically, Gaza was part of the British Mandate of Palestine, and following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, it came under Egyptian administration. This administration lasted until the Six-Day War in 1967, when Israel occupied the Gaza Strip. Following the Oslo Accords in the 1990s, the Palestinian Authority gained some administrative control.

Since 2007, the Gaza Strip has been largely governed by Hamas. Egypt plays a crucial role in the Gaza Strip due to their shared border. The Rafah Border Crossing is the primary entry and exit point between Gaza and Egypt. Egypt has historically controlled and, at various times, restricted passage through this crossing, significantly impacting the movement of people and goods into and out of Gaza.

Egypt's involvement in Gaza is multifaceted, including security considerations, humanitarian aid, and mediation efforts in conflicts between Israel and Palestinian factions. The political dynamics between Egypt, Gaza, and Israel are complex and have a significant impact on the region's stability.
