Gamagrass (Panicum repens) is a perennial tufted grass belonging to the family Poaceae. It is native to the southeastern United States and northern Mexico, where it typically occurs in moist to wet habitats such as bottomlands, riverbanks, shorelines, and wetlands. The species has been naturalised in many other temperate regions, including parts of Europe and the Pacific Islands, and is known elsewhere as “white panic” or “brown panic”.
