Galadin

Galadin is a character from J.R.R. Tolkien's fictional legendarium. He first appears in Unfinished Tales of Númenor and Middle-earth, specifically in the story "The Disaster of the Gladden Fields." Galadin was a Man of the Mark, a region within Gondor inhabited by people of both Mannish and Edain descent. He was a kinsman of Prince Earnil and served in the Gondorian army during the reign of King Minard.

Galadin's primary significance stems from his role in the events leading to the death of Isildur. He was part of the escort accompanying Isildur and his sons up the River Anduin after Isildur had refused to return the One Ring to Elrond. During their journey, the party was ambushed by Orcs. Galadin was among those who fought bravely against the attackers.

Despite his efforts, the ambush was successful, and most of Isildur's company, including his sons, were killed. Isildur himself managed to escape the immediate onslaught but was subsequently killed by Orcs while attempting to flee.
