Gailopus

Gailopus is a genus of prehistoric birds that lived during the Eocene epoch. Fossils attributed to Gailopus have been found in North America. The genus was first described by paleontologists in the early 20th century based on fragmentary remains. The most notable species within this genus is Gailopus canadensis.

The skeletal remains of Gailopus suggest it was a relatively small bird, with adaptations for a terrestrial or semi-aquatic lifestyle.
