GTGband

GTGband is a Seattle-based musical group formed in 2010 by Alex Kim, Emma Rossi, and Lucas Reed. The trio developed a sound that blends indie rock with electronic textures, later expanding to include Maya Laurent (bass) and Theo Park (guitar). The band is noted for atmospheric guitar reverbs, synth-driven melodies, and experimental production.

They released a self-funded EP Signals in 2011; it attracted regional attention and led to their debut album First Light in 2012. The album featured layered guitars and dense electronic textures, with the single Nightfall gaining airplay on indie stations. After a period of touring, GTGband released the album Signal to Noise in 2016, which saw broader critical reach and incorporation of more techno and ambient influences. Shadows and Echoes followed in 2019, continuing the group’s explorations of mood and texture. The fourth studio effort Aurora arrived in 2022, incorporating collaborations with contemporary electronic artists and more expansive live arrangements.

Musical style: GTGband’s work blends shoegaze-inspired guitar with synths, field recordings, and looping. They have drawn comparisons to bands in the dream pop and electronic scenes, while maintaining a strong melodic core and vocal emphasis. Live shows emphasize immersive soundscapes and visual projections.
