GT1000s

The GT1000s is a series of compact, lightweight, and fuel-injected 1,000 cc (61 cu in) parallel-twin motorcycle engines developed by Suzuki Motor Corporation. Introduced in the early 2000s, the GT1000s series was designed to offer a balance of performance, efficiency, and practicality, catering to both urban commuters and sporty riders.

The GT1000s engine features a liquid-cooled, DOHC (dual overhead camshaft) design with four valves per cylinder, producing around 100 horsepower and 70 lb-ft of torque. Its fuel-injected system enhances throttle response and fuel efficiency compared to earlier carbureted models. The engine’s compact size and lightweight construction make it suitable for a variety of applications, including motorcycles, scooters, and even some ATVs.

The most notable motorcycle model utilizing the GT1000s engine was the Suzuki SV650, though the engine was also adapted for other platforms. The GT1000s engine was praised for its smooth operation, reliability, and adaptability, making it a popular choice in both original equipment and aftermarket applications.
