GOG

Gog is a name that appears in biblical and later religious literature as a figure or designation for a hostile power. In Ezekiel, Gog is described as the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, who will lead a coalition from the lands of Magog against Israel in the latter days; the prophecy ends with divine judgment and a demonstration of God’s sovereignty. In the New Testament, the term Gog and Magog is used again in Revelation 20:7–9 to describe nations assembled by Satan for a final assault after the millennium, a depiction drawing on the Ezekiel oracle but not identifying a specific political power.

Traditionally, Magog and Gog have been variously identified with northern peoples or distant empires, including Scythians

Beyond scripture, Gog appears in folklore and in modern popular culture as a figure of cataclysmic threat.

Modern usage includes GOG.com, a digital distribution platform for PC games and software, originally named Good
