GMEX

GMex, often written as G-MEX, was a convention and exhibition centre in Manchester, England. Built in the late 20th century as a flagship venue for trade shows, conferences, and cultural events, it became a distinctive feature of Manchester’s city centre. The facility hosted a wide range of events, from industry exhibitions to large-scale conferences and performances, and contributed to the city’s profile as a hub for meetings and events.

From 2010 to 2011, GMex underwent a major redevelopment as part of the Manchester Central project. The venue was integrated into the Manchester Central Convention Complex and renamed Manchester Central. The redevelopment expanded facilities to provide a modern convention space capable of hosting national and international conferences, exhibitions, and events. The site remains a key component of Manchester’s meetings and events infrastructure, and it is connected to nearby public transport networks, including the adjacent railway facilities, facilitating access for attendees.
