Fájdalomkezelési is the Hungarian term for pain management. It encompasses a broad range of medical, nursing, and therapeutic interventions aimed at alleviating pain, whether it is acute or chronic. The goal of pain management is to improve the quality of life for individuals experiencing pain.

Pain management approaches can be categorized into several types. Pharmacological interventions involve the use of medications such as analgesics (pain relievers), including non-opioids like paracetamol and NSAIDs, and opioids for more severe pain. Non-pharmacological methods include physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, and heat or cold therapy. Psychological approaches are also crucial and may involve cognitive behavioral therapy, relaxation techniques, and mindfulness.

The management of pain is highly individualized. A comprehensive assessment of the pain's characteristics, including its location, intensity, duration, and impact on daily activities, is essential. This assessment guides the selection of the most appropriate treatment plan. Pain management teams often consist of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physical therapists, and psychologists working collaboratively.

Effective pain management is vital for recovery from injury or surgery, for managing chronic conditions like arthritis or back pain, and for improving overall well-being. It addresses not only the physical sensation of pain but also its emotional and functional consequences.
