Fytestrogeenit
Fytestrogeenit, also known as phytoestrogens, are naturally occurring compounds found in plants that possess a chemical structure similar to human estrogen. Because of this structural resemblance, they can bind to estrogen receptors in the body, albeit with weaker affinity than endogenous estrogen. This interaction can lead to either estrogenic or anti-estrogenic effects, depending on the body's own estrogen levels and the specific type of phytoestrogen.
The most well-known classes of phytoestrogens include isoflavones, lignans, and coumestans. Isoflavones are abundant in legumes,
Research into phytoestrogens has explored their potential health effects, both beneficial and detrimental. Some studies suggest
