Furtens

Furtens are a fictional species native to the planet Xylos in the Andromeda galaxy. They are a mammalian-like creature characterized by their dense, fur-like covering, which ranges in color from deep blues to vibrant greens, providing camouflage within Xylos's lush flora. Furtens possess six limbs, with the anterior pair adapted for manipulation and the posterior four for locomotion. Their diet consists primarily of bioluminescent fungi and small, insectoid Xylosian lifeforms.

Socially, Furtens live in communal burrows, often forming large, interconnected colonies. Communication is achieved through a complex system of vocalizations, scent marking, and subtle changes in fur coloration. They are known for their intelligence and problem-solving abilities, often exhibiting curiosity towards new stimuli. Reproduction occurs seasonally, with litters typically consisting of two to four offspring. Young Furtens are born blind and dependent on their mothers for several Xylosian cycles. Their lifespan averages around thirty Earth years.
