A full-season pickup signals confidence in a program's potential, and it affects budgeting, staffing, and scheduling. Traditionally, American broadcast networks aimed for roughly 22 episodes per season, though lengths vary by network, genre, and era; streaming services often release seasons in full or in serialized batches and may adjust episode counts based on audience data.
