Fuksiaiset

Fuksiaiset is a Finnish term referring to the orientation or hazing period for new university and polytechnic students, often translated as "fuksinperjantai" or "fuksisuunnistus". The word "fuksi" itself is derived from the Swedish word "fux", meaning a freshman. These events are traditionally organized by the older students, often within student unions or specific faculties, to welcome and integrate the new arrivals.
