FrintononSea

Frinton-on-Sea is a coastal resort town located in the Tendring district of Essex, England, approximately 60 miles east of London. It sits on the North Sea coast within the Blackwater Estuary catchment area, where gentle chalk cliffs and sandy beaches give it a distinctive seaside character. The town is part of the larger Kentish and Essex council area and shares a boundary with the neighboring town of Clacton-on-Sea.

Historically, Frinton-on-Sea developed during the late nineteenth‑century Victorian era, largely as a retirement destination for London's wealthy. The arrival of the railway line in 1889, connecting the town to London and Colchester, facilitated this growth and cemented its reputation as a genteel holiday resort. The town’s population peaked in the early 20th centuries, and census figures show it has maintained a relatively small, stable population; the 2011 Census recorded 3,322 residents.

Tourism remains the core of the local economy, with attractions including the Frinton Promenade, St Augustine's Church, and the Frinton Marina. The wider surrounding area offers walking routes along The Waveney Trail and access to the North Sea bathing beach. Heritage preservation is important to the community, with several Victorian and Edwardian buildings retaining their original architectural features.

Transport links are fairly well developed for a small town. From Frinton, a regular bus service connects with Clacton and Colchester, and a frequent railway service from Essex provides routes to London Liverpool Street and Great Yarmouth. Road access is via the A120 east–west corridor, which links the town into the East Anglian network.
