FrancoAmericans are citizens of the United States whose ancestry originates from France. This group encompasses descendants of various waves of French immigration to the U.S., including early colonial settlers, as well as more recent immigrants. Historically, French immigration has been significant in certain regions of the United States, particularly in Louisiana, where French culture, language, and traditions have left a lasting impact. Other areas with notable Franco-American populations include New England, especially states like Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts, where French Canadians also formed a substantial part of the immigrant population.

The cultural contributions of FrancoAmericans are diverse. They have influenced American cuisine, music, and literature. In Louisiana, the unique blend of French, Spanish, African, and Native American influences resulted in distinct cultural forms like Cajun and Creole traditions.
