Forretningssak

Forretningssak is a Norwegian term meaning a matter related to the ordinary business or administration of an organization. It is used in corporate, governmental, and municipal contexts to describe items that require consideration and a decision by a governing or decision-making body, such as a board of directors, a city council, a committee, or a government agency.

On meeting agendas, items are commonly classified as forretningssaker to indicate they concern routine operational matters or concrete actions rather than broader political debates. A forretningssak may concern contracts, budgets, procurement, staffing, internal policies, or other actions necessary to run the organization. The precise scope can vary by organization, but the label signals that the item is intended to be decided or approved at the meeting.
