Fokuspunkte

Fokuspunkte are a concept used in mobility aids and assistive technology. The term is derived from the German words "Fokus" meaning focus and "Punkt" meaning point, but it is more commonly used in Dutch-speaking regions under the name "Fokuspunten". The concept was first introduced by Dutch designer Groot Nibabi for orthopedic wheelchairs.

The Fokuspunkte system is designed to adjust the wheelchair to the user's physical characteristics. A configuration of measurement points is used to set the optimal position for the backrest and armrests of the wheelchair. This results in the user having a more comfortable and more inclusive experience. The process involves taking measurements around a person's body to determine the ideal location for the chair's fittings.
