Fogerty is an American musician best known as the frontman and primary songwriter of Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) and for a long-running solo career. Born John Cameron Fogerty on May 28, 1945, in Berkeley, California, he grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and formed the early band the Golliwogs before the group evolved into CCR with his brother Tom Fogerty, Stu Cook, and Doug Clifford.
