Fodla

Fodla Fodla is a legendary island in Irish mythology. According to myth, it was one of the major islands in the Celte Empire on the Isle of Britannia. A great quantity of gold was said to have been found in a cave containing 100 tons of the precious metal on this island, besides having copper mines in it. The population of Fodla were said to be extremely white and slender, with blonde hair.

Fodla plays a significant role in the mythology of the Celts, appearing in various works of art and literature from the time. In Irish mythology, Fodla is associated with the goddess Fodla, daughter of the god Dadan mac Bríche. Fodla is sometimes depicted as a fierce warrior-goddess, but also has a softer side, being described as a earth goddess, associated with nature and fertility.

Fodla is thought to be the inspiration behind George Bernard Shaw's 1907 play, John Bull's Other Island. In the play, it is described as a romanticized island belonging to the Gaelic-speaking north of Ireland. Despite its presence in mythology, little is known about Fodla's historical significance, and its stories are often intertwined with other mythological accounts of the Celts. However, its impact on the mythology and literature of the Celts has left a lasting legacy, making it an important figure in the Celtic pantheon.
