Fluoroskopický refers to a medical imaging technique that uses X-rays to obtain real-time moving images of internal structures. Unlike a standard X-ray which produces a static image, fluoroscopy allows physicians to visualize the movement of organs, the flow of blood, or the insertion of medical instruments within the body.

The process involves an X-ray source that projects a continuous beam of radiation through the patient. This beam then passes through a detector, typically an image intensifier or a flat-panel detector, which converts the X-rays into visible light. This light is then displayed on a monitor, creating a live video feed.

Fluoroscopy is invaluable in various medical procedures, including guiding catheter placements during angioplasty and stent insertion, assisting in the placement of pacemakers, and facilitating orthopedic surgeries. It is also used in gastrointestinal studies, such as barium swallows and enemas, to visualize the digestive tract. The real-time imaging capability helps ensure accuracy and safety during interventions.

While effective, fluoroscopy involves exposure to ionizing radiation, and medical professionals strive to minimize this exposure by using the lowest effective dose and limiting the duration of the procedure. Pregnant patients are generally advised against undergoing fluoroscopy unless absolutely necessary due to the potential risks to the fetus.
