Flokulante
Flokulante, also known as flocculants, are substances that promote flocculation. Flocculation is the process by which a colloidal suspension is caused to aggregate and form flocs. These flocs are larger particles that can then settle out of the solution or be more easily removed by filtration. Flokulante are widely used in water treatment, both for drinking water and wastewater. They are also employed in various industrial processes, such as mining, papermaking, and oil recovery, to separate solids from liquids.
The mechanism by which flokulante work typically involves neutralizing the surface charge of the suspended particles.
Common types of flokulante include inorganic salts like aluminum sulfate (alum) and ferric chloride, and organic
