Fladskærmstver

Fladskærmstver is a Danish term that translates to "flat-screen TV." It refers to any television that utilizes a flat panel display technology, as opposed to older cathode ray tube (CRT) televisions. These modern televisions are characterized by their slim profile and ability to be mounted on walls or placed on stands.

The development of flat-screen technology has revolutionized the television industry. Early flat-screen technologies included plasma and LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). Plasma displays offered excellent black levels and contrast but were often more power-hungry and prone to screen burn-in. LCD technology, on the other hand, became more prevalent due to its lower cost and energy efficiency.

Over time, advancements in LCD technology have led to improved picture quality, with features like LED backlighting (resulting in LED TVs, which are a type of LCD TV) offering better contrast and brightness. More recently, OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diode) technology has emerged, providing superior contrast ratios and color reproduction by allowing individual pixels to emit their own light.

The widespread adoption of flat-screen TVs has also enabled higher resolutions like Full HD and 4K, further enhancing the viewing experience.
