Filtrujcy

Filtrujcy are traditional portable filters used predominantly in Polish folk culture for the purpose of filtering and purifying water. Historically, these devices were crafted from natural materials such as wood, clay, and fabrics, designed to improve the quality of drinking water in rural and urban communities before the widespread availability of modern water treatment systems.

The typical filtrujcy consists of a container or vessel filled with a filtering medium—often sand, charcoal, or other locally available materials—through which water is poured to remove impurities and contaminants.
