Filletförband

Filletförband is a Swedish term referring to a fillet weld, a type of joint in welding where the two parts being joined meet at a right angle. This is a very common and versatile weld type used in a wide range of applications, from structural steel fabrication to shipbuilding and manufacturing. The fillet weld is characterized by its triangular cross-section, formed by depositing weld metal into the corner created by the two pieces of material. This triangular shape distributes stress efficiently, making it a strong and reliable joint.

The process of creating a filletförband involves preparing the two pieces of metal, ensuring they are clean and properly positioned. Then, the welder uses an appropriate welding process, such as shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), or flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), to deposit weld metal along the root of the corner.
