Fiber to the Premises, often abbreviated as FTTP, is a type of fiber optic telecommunications infrastructure that brings fiber optic cables directly to the end-user's premises. This contrasts with older technologies that might only bring fiber to a local street cabinet, with the final connection to homes or businesses using traditional copper wiring. FTTP is a component of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Fiber to the Building (FTTB) deployments.

The primary advantage of FTTP is its ability to deliver significantly higher bandwidth and speeds compared to older technologies like DSL or cable internet. Fiber optic cables transmit data using light signals, which are less susceptible to interference and degradation over distance, allowing for much faster and more reliable connections.
