Features can be binary, categorical, ordinal, or continuous, and may be sourced from lexicons, corpora, or lexical resources. The framework aims to provide a compact, extensible representation of a word’s behavior across syntactic, semantic, and discourse contexts.

In practice, featureslexical is used to feed traditional machine learning models for tasks such as part-of-speech tagging, syntactic parsing, semantic role labeling, named entity recognition, sentiment analysis, and machine translation. They can be employed alone or as auxiliary inputs to neural models, enabling hybrid approaches that leverage interpretable lexical information alongside learned representations.
