Faseafvigelse, often translated as phase deviation or phase shift, refers to the difference in phase between two or more periodic signals. In the context of electrical engineering and physics, it is particularly relevant when discussing alternating current (AC) circuits and wave phenomena.

When two waves are traveling at the same frequency, they may not be perfectly aligned. If one wave consistently leads or lags the other, this difference in their cyclical progression is termed phase deviation. This can be measured in degrees or radians.
