Fakulteettis

Fakulteettis is a municipality in the fictional nation of Valloria, located in the northern part of the Vallorian plateau along the Siltra River. The area covers about 86 square kilometers and includes the town core and several surrounding villages. The landscape features river valleys, rolling hills, and patches of forest.

Fakulteettis traces its origins to medieval market posts established in the 13th century. It grew as a regional trading center and gained municipal rights in the 15th century. The name derives from fakulteetti, an old term meaning 'faculty' or 'guild of scholars,' reflecting the town's long ties to education.

Today the economy is diversified, with education, public services, and light manufacturing at its core. The University of Fakulteettis, founded in 1902, offers faculties in humanities, sciences, and engineering. A nearby research park hosts startups and university collaborations. Agriculture, especially dairy and crops in the surrounding countryside, remains important.

As of 2023, Fakulteettis has around 22,000 residents. Local government is a municipal council elected for four-year terms, led by a mayor. The council oversees urban planning, schools, and social services.

Its cultural life centers on the Fakulteetti Festival and a biannual book fair. The town is connected by regional rail and roads, with Fakulteettis Central Station acting as a regional hub.
