Valloria

Valloria is a town and municipality in the Valdorian Basin, in the northern part of the fictional country of Aurelia. It covers about 28 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 11,800 in 2022.

The name Valloria is derived from Latin vallis "valley" and -oria, a suffix indicating a locality.

Valloria lies in a broad valley framed by hills. The Sora river runs nearby, and the climate is temperate with dry summers.

The settlement is first mentioned in 12th-century records and grew as a market town along a trade route linking coastal cities.

Its economy combines viticulture and olive cultivation with light manufacturing and tourism. Local wineries and olive mills supply regional markets.

Valloria is governed by a mayor and a 12-member municipal council elected every four years.

The official language is Vallorian; Italian and French communities are present. The population is predominantly Roman Catholic, though secular attitudes have grown in recent decades.

Notable sites include the Valloria Cathedral of St. Mary, the medieval town walls, and the central Piazza del Mercato. The annual harvest festival draws visitors from neighboring areas.

Valloria is connected by regional rail and national highways, with the nearest international airport located about 40 kilometers away.
