FOXP3negative
FOXP3negative refers to cells that do not express the transcription factor FOXP3. FOXP3 is a key regulator of most regulatory T cells (Tregs) and is commonly used as a canonical marker to identify this lineage, especially in CD4+ T cells. However, not all regulatory activity depends on FOXP3, and there are FOXP3-negative regulatoryT cell populations, such as Tr1 cells that suppress immune responses through IL-10 and TGF-β rather than FOXP3 expression.
In general terms, FOXP3negative cells include conventional effector T cells (CD4+ or CD8+) that do not exhibit
Detection and measurement of FOXP3 status are commonly done by intracellular staining followed by flow cytometry
