ExemplarTheorien
ExemplarTheorien, often translated as exemplar theories, are a class of cognitive models that explain how humans categorize objects and concepts. Instead of relying on abstract rules or feature lists to define a category, exemplar theories propose that we store and recall specific instances, or exemplars, of that category. When we encounter a new item, we compare it to the stored exemplars in our memory. The new item is then assigned to the category whose exemplars it most closely resembles.
These theories suggest that the more similar an item is to a typical or frequently encountered exemplar
