Evrópudómstóllinn, also known as the European Court of Justice (ECJ) or Cour de Justice de l'Union européenne (CJEU), is the judicial branch of the European Union. Its primary role is to ensure that EU law is interpreted and applied uniformly across all member states. The Court is based in Luxembourg City. It consists of two main courts: the Court of Justice and the General Court. The Court of Justice is composed of one judge from each member state, assisted by Advocate Generals. The General Court has at least two judges per member state.
