Eudists

The Eudists are a Roman Catholic religious congregation of priests and brothers founded in 1643 by Saint John Eudes. The congregation is dedicated to the education of the clergy and the promotion of devotion to the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The full name of the order is the Congregation of the Heart of the Most Admirable Mother of God, often abbreviated as the C.I.M.D. or simply the Eudists.

John Eudes, a French priest, established the Eudists with the intention of providing a strong spiritual and intellectual formation for those entering the priesthood. He was deeply devoted to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary and sought to spread this devotion. The Eudists have historically been involved in seminaries, conducting retreats for clergy and laity, and engaging in missionary work.
