Etuotsalohkojen

Etuotsalohkojen is a Finnish term that translates to "frontal lobes" in English. The frontal lobes are the largest and most anterior part of the brain, located in the front of the head, behind the forehead. They are a crucial component of the cerebral cortex and play a significant role in a wide range of complex cognitive functions.

These functions include executive functions such as planning, decision-making, problem-solving, working memory, and impulse control. The frontal lobes are also heavily involved in personality, social behavior, emotional regulation, and voluntary movement. Different regions within the frontal lobes are specialized for specific tasks. For instance, the prefrontal cortex, located at the very front, is considered the seat of higher-level cognition and abstract thought. The motor cortex, situated at the back of the frontal lobes, is responsible for initiating and controlling voluntary movements.
