Ethelflæd
Ethelflæd, also known as Æthelflæd, was a prominent Anglo-Saxon princess and ruler of the Kingdom of Mercia during the late 10th century. Born around 896, she was the daughter of King Alfred the Great of Wessex and his wife, Ealhswith. Her brother, Edward the Elder, succeeded their father as King of Wessex in 899, and Ethelflæd played a significant role in the political and military affairs of the time.
