Estari

Estari is a fictional coastal city and regional capital in the country of Veridia. It sits on the western shore of Veridia's main peninsula, facing the Strait of Meridion. The city covers about 75 square kilometers and has a population around 260,000 as of 2023. Estari functions as Veridia's commercial and cultural hub for the western region, with a major deep-water port and a diversified economy.

Estari originated as a modest trading village in the 9th century, receiving a charter in 1284 that elevated it to regional capital. It grew through maritime trade, shipyards, and later industrial development in the 19th and 20th centuries. The old town preserves walls and fortifications from the medieval era, while modern districts were built around the harbor.

The city lies in a mild, maritime climate with gentle hills in the north and a natural harbor at its center. The Estari River runs through the city, discharging into the harbor.

The port handles regional freight and passenger traffic, supporting fishing, shipbuilding, logistics, and services. Estari is connected by rail to neighboring cities and is served by a regional airport located a short distance east of the city center. The municipal government operates through a mayor and an elected council.

Estari hosts an annual Tide Festival and a daily market in the harbor district. The city is home to Estari University and several technical institutes, contributing to research in marine sciences and logistics. The population is multilingual, with Veridian as the official language and minority languages spoken in neighborhoods.
