Erytrodermická

Erytrodermická refers to a severe and widespread inflammation of the skin, characterized by redness and scaling over at least 90% of the body's surface area. This condition is also known as exfoliative dermatitis. It is not a disease in itself but rather a clinical presentation that can be caused by a variety of underlying medical issues.

The most common causes of erythroderma include pre-existing skin conditions such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis, which can become generalized and severe. Drug reactions are another significant cause, with a wide range of medications potentially triggering this response. Less commonly, erythroderma can be associated with internal malignancies, particularly cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, or with infections.

Symptoms of erythroderma include intense redness, extensive scaling, itching, and often a feeling of heat or burning. Patients may also experience systemic symptoms like fever, chills, and malaise due to the skin's impaired barrier function and heat regulation. Dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, and secondary infections are serious complications.

Diagnosis involves a thorough medical history, physical examination, and often skin biopsy to identify the underlying cause. Treatment is primarily supportive, focusing on fluid and electrolyte balance, temperature regulation, and nutritional support. The underlying cause must be identified and treated to resolve the erythroderma. Management may involve topical treatments, systemic medications, and close monitoring in a hospital setting.
