Erforderlig

Erforderlig is an adjective meaning "necessary" or "required" in the sense of something that must be done or provided. In contemporary usage it is most closely associated with German as a nonstandard or archaic form of the standard German word erforderlich. The form erfordlig can occasionally appear in cross-linguistic texts, translations, or regional writings, but it is not common in modern standard German.

In Scandinavian languages, the word is generally not part of the standard vocabulary. Danish and Norwegian typically express the same idea with terms such as nødvendig or påkrevd, depending on context.
