Epäyksilöityvyyttä, often translated as "depersonalization" or "dereali-zation," is a dissociative experience characterized by a sense of detachment from oneself or one's surroundings. In depersonalization, individuals feel disconnected from their own thoughts, feelings, body, or actions, as if they are an outside observer of their own lives. They may describe feeling unreal, robotic, or like they are living in a dream. Sensations can feel dulled or distorted, and a sense of emotional numbness is common.
