Enoshima

Enoshima is a small, tidal island located off the coast of Fujisawa in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. Connected to the mainland by a long bridge, it is a popular tourist destination, particularly during the summer months. The island is known for its natural beauty, historical sites, and recreational activities.

The island's most prominent feature is Mount Enoshima, a hill offering panoramic views of the surrounding coastline and, on clear days, Mount Fuji. Enoshima also boasts a network of caves, including the Iwaya Caves, which can be explored by boat or on foot. These sea caves have been shaped by centuries of wave erosion and contain various formations and historical inscriptions. For leisure, the island offers beaches for swimming and sunbathing, as well as numerous restaurants and shops selling local souvenirs and delicacies. Access to Enoshima is convenient via the Enoshima Electric Railway.
