Energyfocusing

Energyfocusing is a term used to describe methods for concentrating energy into a smaller region, increasing energy density at a target point. The concept spans multiple disciplines, with different practical meanings depending on the context. In physics and engineering, energy focusing refers to shaping or directing waves, particles, or fields so that their energy converges at a focal region, often achieved with lenses, antennas, reflectors, waveguides, or magnetic optics. Common implementations include optical focusing with lenses and curved mirrors, acoustic focusing in ultrasound transducers, and electromagnetic or particle-beam focusing using phased arrays, solenoids or quadrupole magnets. Solar energy systems also employ concentrating methods, such as heliostats and parabolic troughs, to raise incident energy density on receivers.

In medical and scientific imaging, focusing enables higher resolution or targeted energy delivery, as in laser microscopy, lithography, or focused ultrasound therapy.
