Calculation of endpris can vary depending on whether a price is displayed inclusive or exclusive of value-added tax (VAT) and other charges. If the price is shown including VAT, the endpris equals the base price plus tax and any additional fees such as shipping or handling. If the price is shown excluding VAT, the endpris includes VAT and any extra charges added at checkout. For example, a product with a base price of 100, a VAT of 25, and a shipping charge of 10 would have an endpris of 135 when VAT is included, or 135 if VAT is added on top of the base price plus shipping in other setups.

In practice, endpris is used in retail, e-commerce, and contractual pricing to communicate the exact amount payable by the buyer. It is closely related to concepts such as gross price, total price, and final price, and is subject to consumer protection and price-display rules in many jurisdictions.
