Endovaskulárne

Endovaskulárne refers to procedures performed within a blood vessel. These minimally invasive techniques utilize catheters inserted through small punctures in the skin, typically in the groin or arm, to access and treat conditions affecting arteries and veins. The catheter is guided through the vascular system to the specific site of disease or abnormality.

Common endovaskulárne interventions include angioplasty and stenting. Angioplasty involves inflating a small balloon at the tip of a catheter to widen narrowed or blocked blood vessels, restoring blood flow. Stenting is often performed in conjunction with angioplasty, where a small mesh tube, called a stent, is deployed to keep the vessel open.

Other endovaskulárne procedures address aneurysms, which are bulges in blood vessel walls. Techniques like endovascular aneurysm repair (EVAR) involve placing a stent graft inside the aneurysm to reinforce the vessel wall and prevent rupture. Embolization is another endovaskulárne method used to block blood flow to specific areas, for example, to stop bleeding or shrink tumors.

The advantages of endovaskulárne approaches over traditional open surgery often include smaller incisions, less pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery times. These procedures are performed by interventional radiologists or vascular surgeons using advanced imaging guidance, such as fluoroscopy, to visualize the instruments and the vascular structures in real-time. Indications for endovaskulárne treatment span a wide range of conditions affecting the heart, brain, peripheral arteries, and veins.
