Endkundeneinheit

Endkundeneinheit is a data construct used in enterprise information systems to model a single end customer in the context of service provision, billing, and customer management. It represents the formal unit through which a customer receives products or services and is billed, and is typically distinct from broader corporate or partner entities in the same account hierarchy. Endkundeneinheit can apply to private consumers as well as to business end customers and is often linked to one or more contracts, metering points, or service points.

In typical implementations within sectors such as energy, telecommunications, and water supply, the Endkundeneinheit contains identifiers (a unique Endkunden-ID or customer number), contact and address data, billing information, tariff or contract terms, and status (active, inactive, delinquent). It may also include pointers to metering and usage data, such as meter IDs and historical consumption, enabling accurate billing and consumption analysis.

Endkundeneinheit exists within a data model that may include related entities such as Verträge (contracts), Zählpunkte (meters), Zahlungsdaten (payment data), and Rechnungsdokumente (invoices). A single customer organization can have multiple Endkundeneinheiten, for example when a company operates several consumption points at different locations.

Data governance aspects include privacy under GDPR, data minimization, access controls, and retention policies. The term is common in German-language industry standards and vendor documentation for sectors like energy and telecommunications, but exact attributes and relationships can vary by system.
