Encruzado
Encruzado is a white grape variety native to Portugal, widely grown in the Dão DOC and also found in Bairrada. It is considered one of the region’s most important white varieties and is increasingly used in single-varietal wines as well as blends. The vine ripens late and typically yields wines with high acidity and good aging potential. Soils in Dão, often calcareous with limestone, along with a temperate climate, suit Encruzado well, contributing to its mineral character.
Wines made from Encruzado range from fresh, citrus-driven styles to more concentrated, oak-influenced wines. In stainless
