Emissiivisyyttä

Emissiivisyyttä refers to the property of a surface to emit thermal radiation. When a surface is at a temperature above absolute zero, its atoms and molecules vibrate and release energy in the form of electromagnetic waves, which we perceive as heat. The amount of radiation emitted depends on the surface's material, its temperature, and its specific emissive properties.

Emissiivisyyttä is a value between 0 and 1, where 1 represents a perfect emitter (a blackbody) and 0 represents a surface that does not emit any thermal radiation. Most real-world materials have emissiivisyyttä values somewhere in between. For example, a shiny metal surface typically has low emissiivisyyttä, meaning it reflects most of the incident thermal radiation and emits very little itself. Conversely, dark, matte surfaces tend to have high emissiivisyyttä, absorbing and emitting radiation more readily.
