Elektromágnesek

Elektromágnesek are devices that produce a magnetic field when an electric current flows through them. They consist of a coil of wire wound around a ferromagnetic core. When an electric current is passed through the coil, it generates a magnetic field that is concentrated by the core. The strength of the magnetic field is proportional to the current and the number of turns in the coil.

The core is typically made of a material with high magnetic permeability, such as iron or ferrite. This material enhances the magnetic field produced by the current in the coil. The core can be made in various shapes, such as a bar, horseshoe, or ring, depending on the intended application.

Elektromágnesek are widely used in various applications due to their ability to be switched on and off and their controllable magnetic field strength. They are found in electric motors, generators, relays, loudspeakers, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines, and in lifting and separating magnetic materials in industrial settings. The ability to control the magnetic field by adjusting the electric current makes them invaluable in many technological advancements. When the current is switched off, the magnetic field largely disappears, unlike permanent magnets. This on-off capability is a key feature that distinguishes electromagnets from permanent magnets.
