Electromagnetlennukite

Electromagnetlennukite is a rare mineral species that was first discovered in 2021. It is named after the electromagnetic properties of its crystals and the Lennuk family, who donated the mineral sample to the mineralogical collection. The mineral is a member of the pyrochlore group, which is known for its complex crystal structures and interesting physical properties.

Electromagnetlennukite has a chemical composition of (Y,Ca)2Nb2O7. It forms in low-temperature hydrothermal environments, typically associated with granitic rocks. The mineral crystallizes in the cubic crystal system and forms isometric crystals, often with a cubic habit.
